Tony Moly Clean Dew Acerola Foam Cleanser

My sister got the Blueberry variant. I was a jealous ate, so I got this variant.
Price: PHP178.00 (USD4.00)
Date Bought:  April 16, 2014
Location Bought: Tony Moly SM Mega

Acerola is a relative of the cherry. It is reputedly one of the fruits with the highest Vitamin C content.

This facial foam smells like candied sour cherries. Since I have never seen or tasted an acerola before, I imagine this is what the fruit smells like. Strangely, it reminds me of Strawberry Fruitella. Some people may not like the scent because it's rather strong, but I like it. Because of its sour candy scent, it helps wake me up in the mornings.

About My Beauty Regimen

LOL, I'm sorry I've been posting mostly blogger tags and awards lately. School's creeping back up on me, so I haven't the time to take proper pictures for product reviews.  At least today's tag is about makeup? :D

I borrowed this from Diary of a Late Bloomer. Check out her blog too! Originally there was a part about skincare, but I omitted that since I'm not very confident about skincare blogging. The only skincare advice I can give with utmost certainty is to wash your face often so it stays clean! :))
Obligatory just-so-there's-a-picture picture.
The makeup I used today: the usual three suspects,
Maybelline Lash Stiletto, and TFS Cushion Touch Jelly Tint

The ABCs of Dee

This meme was shamelessly stolen borrowed from one of the lovely nail polish blogs I follow, because it looked fun.
Here's a random shot of nail polish, because this post was started
thanks to a nail polish blog, and also so this post isn't completely bare of pictures.

The Handwriting Tag, aka the Writing Meme

Last Feb-March, this meme became popular among many of the bloggers I follow. I saw it first on K's blog, then on Mai and Kat's blog, then on G's, Asami's, and Pao's. By far, the most creative I've seen is hers. Pretty highlighters! ♥ (She used slightly different questions too!)

I'm quite late to the party, but who cares. At least I'm fashionable? Har har~

Anybody who wants to do this, please go ahead! And link me your posts! :D

My Makeup Story

This post was backlogged December 12, 2010.

I was watching this video by one of my favorite makeup people on YouTube (I love how down-to-earth she is and how calming her voice is), and I decided to do the tag here on my blog too.

1. How old were you when you started wearing makeup?
12, first year high school. It was just lip balm and face powder. I went to a Catholic school with very strict nuns, so I never wore anything beyond that. I started getting into other types of makeup like eyeshadow, liner, foundation and mascara in my fourth year, where most people were having proms, grad parties, debuts, and other similar events. Except for parties, I rarely wore makeup for regular days until I decided to start this blog in third year college. At that point, I started getting into blush and lip products with more intense colors like gloss and lipstick.

Catch-up time! Awards etc!

This award was given to me ages ago by Cha from love affair <3. A big thank you to you, pretty! :D

You're supposed to share 6 interesting facts about yourself when given this award, so here goes:
  1. I used to be scared of dinosaurs as a little kid. I think it was because my parents took me to a huge animatronic dinosaur exhibit somewhere in Manila, and I freaked out because of all the claws and huge teeth.
  2. I hate riding in front of jeeps. They're so troublesome to get in and out of, especially if you're travelling in a skirt. One time I was riding in front and the sidemirror suddenly broke, spraying bits and pieces of glass all over my lap. Terrible. But in contrast...
  3. I love riding trains. Yes, even our cramped MRTs. (I find that glaring works effectively to prevent people from invading your personal space nyahaha >:D) When I'm in another country, the trains are often the first things I want to see (and ride in). There's just something about train systems that shows you a close-up perspective of the country's culture. On Hong Kong's railways, you can leave your bag hanging open and not get anything stolen from it. In the New York subway, you can dye your hair pink and dress in all the spikes and leather you want and not get gawked at by people. Someday I hope to ride the London Tube and the Berlin U-Bahn too.
  4. I'm currently addicted to Cafe World on Facebook. Would you believe I even employed the multiple stoves cheat just to be able to cook more on a measly Facebook game? LOL, some of you are probably thinking, "Who the hell cheats on a FACEBOOK game?!" but there you have it. I find Cafe World more fun and easier to play than Resto City because you don't need to spend half your time collecting silly ingredients.
  5. I think the left side of my face is more photogenic than the right. Dunno why, I just do. Maybe it's because of the "left brain, right brain thing" psychologists and neurologists keep going on and on about?
  6. I like dry, crispy adobo better than the regular "wet" kind. I'll still happily eat the latter, though.
And then not too long ago, Martha the BEAUTY JUNKEE gave me this award for having, I quote, a "hot blog layout"!
I'm glad you like my layout, sis! :D

And also, I got myself bangs!

I was getting tired of my old hair, so I decided it was time for a whole new look! I really like how it turned out, even though my blockmates teased me for looking like a little girl when they first saw the new 'do. XD

10 Things About Me

Gracie tagged me for this ages ago, and I finally have the time to do it!

1. Angie is actually from my second name. I go by Dee (from my first name) IRL.

2. Growing up, I loved video games. I still do, especially the weird, quirky kind like Katamari, Loco Roco, and most games on the Nintendo DS. I'm also the "horror game frontliner" for my friends whenever we get together. (They hand me the controller, I play the game - for example, Fatal Frame II, and they huddle behind me watching. XD) In my younger years, I used to be a total Final Fantasy addict too. Today, I still play XII on occasion.

3. I actually didn't care about makeup back in high school. I went to a conservative Catholic school that banned makeup, and since my attention was majorly preoccupied with video games at the time, I didn't bother to sneak things like lip gloss and blush like most of my schoolmates did. Eventually college came around, and with the wardrobe freedom it gave me, I started experimenting. People who know me from my "geek days" usually get shocked when they find out I'm a recent makeup convert. (That's also why my tagline is "geeky on the outside, girly on the inside"!)

4. Next to nail polish, lip products are my favorite kind of makeup. I guess this is pretty obvious, given Nail Polish Ninja and the number of lipstick/gloss reviews I already have on this blog. On the other hand, I hate mascara the most because I don't like the heavy feeling it gives my eyelashes.

5. I love takoyaki, at least the local versions we have of it so far. I've eaten "takoyaki" from Takuyashi at Greenhills (pretty good), Kuya Chito's Takuyaki at Robinson's Galleria (VERY GOOD, this is my favorite!), and from a newly-opened stall that I've forgotten the name of at Tiendesitas (BAD. don't waste your time with it!). I really would LOVE to try the real thing with actual octopus bits in it, though.

6. I want to visit Germany someday. It doesn't get as much tourist hype like other European countries, which is sad because I think it's a very beautiful country. (That's Neuschwanstein Castle in Bavaria, Germany to the left. Isn't it so fairytale-like?)

7. I used to take karate (all the way to purple belt), but I stopped because it was interfering with my studies. I miss it sometimes - it was a great way to keep in shape for me.

8. I have a thing for boys with glasses and spiky hair.  LOL such a nerd, I am.

angelina jolie

9. I think Ellen deGeneres and Angelina Jolie are amazing people.

10. People who know me can tell whether I'm stressed-and-busy or not through my nails, because I paint them so often. (YELLOW NAILS, WHAT YELLOW NAILS? I don't care, they'll disappear with time anyway!) No nail polish = BOO ME! Otherwise, it's YAY ME! all the way. :D
