The Face Shop Face It Extreme Rouge Gloss: BR801 and PK102

EXTREME rouge indeed! These are seriously the most pigmented, well-formulated glosses I have ever encountered! My friend and I (the same one I was with when I got the in2it shimmer blush) were mall-hopping for graduation things when I got these. After we had found our graduation dresses, we decided to stop at a Face Shop at the mall we were currently in because she was mourning the loss of Elianto and wanted some things to "fill the void". While she made off with a whole shitload of things from toner to lip balm, I quietly went away with these babies. I was so taken with their pigmentation that I couldn't resist!

The Face Shop Fruit Jelly Tube: RD302

Like the previous post, this Fruit Jelly Tube is another lip product with a story. I was waiting for a date to show up when I got this. He was running very late (never a good sign :| ), so I went into The Face Shop to pass the time. The SA was so nice to me even though I made it apparent that I was just browsing. No hard selling, no tailing - she just let me play with the makeup and answered my questions very well, when I had them. You don't see that very often anymore - most salespeople here are quite irritating! To show my gratitude for her excellent customer skills, and for basically keeping me company while I waited for my horrible date, I decided to buy something that wasn't too pricey. I didn't feel like nail polish, so lip gloss it was!

The Face Shop Face&It Lipstick: OR201

Two weeks ago, I came across Pink Sun Spots' review of a peachy orange (or salmon) lipstick from Etude House. I liked the shade so much that I decided to buy my own, but it was out of stock at my usual Etude store. So I went around in search of a similar color and found this lipstick from The Face Shop.

Approximate Price: P575.00
Location Bought: The Face Shop SM Megamall
Approximate Date Bought: November 4, 2010

Packaging: It seems they've locally discontinued the TFS lipstick line with the pink petal-like packaging. In place of that are several new lipstick variants with sleek packaging that makes use of translucent and opaque plastic in dark colors, such as this lipstick from the Face&It line. There were two other lines that I cannot remember the names of, although those came in dark red and dark brown, respectively.
I like what they did with their new lipstick tubes.
Despite being only made of plastic, they managed to make
a rather classy looking product. The only drawback, however,
is that the tube tends to gather fingerprints easily.

Color and Pigmentation: OR201 is a semi-matte peachy orange that I think is similar to Pink Sun Spots' lipstick. The swatch below was one swipe, so it is safe to say that this product is quite pigmented.

Formulation: The lipstick is light, creamy and has a very small amount of shine to it (hence the "semi-matte" description). It is also odorless. However, like most lipsticks with matte properties, OR201 has a slight tendency to dry lips and settle into lip lines. Therefore, lip balm is the best solution!

Actual Usage: On me, the lipstick is its most true-to-color shade under artificial lighting. It turns a bit pinker in natural light, but I believe the overall effect is just the same as Etude House's VIP OR205.

Left: Fluorescent lighting
Right: Natural lighting (indoors)

The only thing I don't like about this lipstick is that it's a little more expensive than the Etude House one! But other than that, it's all good. :D

The Face Shop Lovely Me:Ex Eyes in OR204

This was an unplanned purchase that turned out really well! I was in a BIG HURRY to return home, but then I realized I had no spare change to pay for parking. My parking space was near The Face Shop, soo...

Price: P255.00
Location Bought: The Face Shop SM Megamall
Approximate Date Bought: two days ago

Packaging: The adorable small round container caught my eye, and for only a little over P200, I decided it would be the perfect thing to break up my money with. My wallet is very disappointed in me. :))

The eyeshadow pan can be popped out of the container and replaced with the other single eyeshadows that The Face Shop sells. Plus points for reusability!

Colors: OR204 is a shimmery orange that actually works for everyday wear. The other colors were a matte fluorescent pink (pretty weird, IMO), and a shimmery forest green.

Pigmentation: Weak, but it's the good, buildable kind of weak unlike Etude's craptastic Cute & Sexy quad. No fallout here either.

Actual Usage: The shadow gives my lids a really pretty glow. The effect from a distance is a polished look that doesn't look heavily made up.

The Face Shop Strawberry Yogurt Pack

aka Goop I've Put on My Face Lately part 1!

I bought this wash-off mask two weeks ago to give my skin a little "reward" from not breaking out even after being constantly exposed to jeepney fumes and MRT body heat. (I've been commuting a lot lately. It can get pretty cramped sometimes, but it's alright.)

This product costs around P265.00. It's packaged like those little packets of Anchor butter that come with fancy cafe bread rolls. It also has a very nice strawberry scent.

Very cute! (And misleadingly edible!)

The product amount is a letdown, though. Look at how little a packet contains:

Because of the sparse amount, I wasn't able to cover my face as luxuriously as I wanted to. It works reasonably well, however, as I immediately noticed my skin tighten and brighten after washing it off.

This is an okay face mask, but I probably won't be buying it again since it doesn't come in generous portions. I want to be able to SLATHER my face with it! XD

The Face Shop Real Moisture Lipstick in BR803

Today we have a brownish-pink lipstick perfect for everyday wear.

This Face Shop lip product is highly moisturizing and eliminates the need for lip balm.

Because of that, this shade has never left my kikay kit.

MLBB! ;D

The Face Shop Cushion Touch Jelly Tint in Cherry

I was originally going to get their Cushion Touch lip plumper in the purple shade because I wanted something on the purple side for a change. Unfortunately it turned out that the lip plumper didn't have much pigment, so I got this hot pink gloss instead.

The packaging is on the bulky side, so it's not really shove-in-your-pocket material.

The applicator is completely made of plastic but is surprisingly soft on the lips.

And while it may seem very shocking in the tube, the color is actually very wearable:

The Face Shop Hydro Splash BB Cream

I was waiting and waiting for Face Shop to restock their Quick & Clean BB, until one fateful night at their branch at Bonifacio High Street...

...I found Hydro Splash, their new BB Cream! At P695.00, it's very close in price to Q&C. I believe it's a super reasonable price, considering how high some other BB creams *COUGHSKINFOODCOUGH* go for locally!

The writing on the package is mostly in Korean, but the SA assured me it's water-based. Water-based is a good thing for a BB cream beginner like me, right? Hahaha

It's a dead-looking beige color when unblended on my skin,

but it evens out rather nicely afterward.

I roadtested this last Tuesday, applying it with a sponge and finishing it with a layer of Pigeon. This is me wearing it in the bathroom at around 8AM, before leaving for a busy day of school:
(OH NO YOU'VE SEEN MY WHOLE FACE! I'M SHY! Also, hair's still wet! Can't tie it yet!)

And this is me 9 hours later at around 5PM:
(Now I'm wearing the classic "haggard college student" ponytail!)

Hmmm.... is that a shiny forehead and nose I see?

Pigeon powder to the rescue!
(Good as new again! I wish I could say the same for my hair, though. XD)

I really really like how this BB cream works on me. It's not heavy feeling and gives me a great finish every time I put it on. I also like how it blends very quickly on my skin and doesn't make me end up looking like espasol. Its scent is also bearable - it smells rather like sunscreen at first, but it goes away really quickly.

I'm not so sure if I should call it my HG BB cream yet since this is only the second one I've tried so far (the first one FAILED terribly, might I add), but Hydro Splash is quite a contender for that coveted HG title.

The Face Shop Automatic Eyeliner Pencil in White

Can I just say, this product is SUPER amazing. I love it for two reasons.

The eyeliner is a double-ended one,

with a smudger on one side,

and the actual eyeliner on the other. Reason why I love it #1: it's the twistable kind! I'm lazy so I don't care much for sharpening. :P

Reason why I love it #2: it goes on really creamy both on the hand and (more importantly) on the eye. Other white eyeliners I've had in the past only went smoothly on my hand, so boo on them!

Look how nicely it went on:

:D:D:D
