Skin Food Fresh Fruit Lip and Cheek in Grapefruit

This product's name sounds like something is missing. "Skin Food Fresh Fruit Lip and Cheek" what? Tint? Balm? Slime?

Actually, this is a creme-based lip and cheek treatment that smells and looks very much like its indicated flavor, grapefruit (a relative of our local pomelo).

It's extremely small, as you will see below. It's also not advisable to buy it at local Skin Food stores, because they have it exorbitantly priced at around P745.00.

Luckily, it performs very well despite its prohibitive size. I like the refreshed flush it gives my cheeks,

as well as how it looks on my lips.

Put together, FF L&C brightens up my look with very little effort. Perfect for lazy days!

e.l.f. Brightening Eye Color in Butternut

Took me long enough to review this quad! :P

Butternut is one out of the two neutral quads that ELF offers (the other one being Nouveau Neutrals). This quad is composed of two rich browns and two creamy peaches.

The browns are very pigmented and very silky, although the peaches are a little on the powdery side.

And here's the look I did with them!

e.l.f. Luscious Liquid Lipstick in Caramel Candy

ELF's luscious liquid lipsticks aren't really lipsticks at all - they're more like glosses.

Caramel Candy is a frosted nude which has a slightly thicker consistency than the other LLLs I have (Baby Lips, Cherry Tart, Brownie Points).

It isn't noticeable up close,

but it gives your lips an amazing ethereal glow at a distance.

In my experience, LLLs stay on my lips until I eat or drink something. They're not drying, but I still prefer to layer them over lip balm because of their stickiness. This product isn't suited for windy days - unless you want a mouth full of hair, that is.

e.l.f. Elements eye shadow in Golden Glow

Hello there! Today we have one of ELF's single eye shadows, Golden Glow.

This beautiful golden shadow is quite pigmented for its price, P89.75. The hand swatch does not do it justice!

I didn't think it would show up so distinctly on my lids with my previous experience using golden-toned colors , but it did!

As I often do, this application was primed using elf's tone correcting concealer. Come to think of it, I rarely ever use that product for its intended purpose - concealing blemishes - anymore.

I decided to fool around with it by applying some of the darker pink from 4u2 palette No. 30 just above the upper lash line (I hope my eye terminology is correct! X_X), and I'm pretty happy with the result!

Careline Glamour Eyes in Cotton Candy and Forest Green

ETA 6PM: Oops, forgot to put in links! Fixed now!

Eek, I've run out of scheduled posts! I'm actually writing this in REAL TIME. Must make more entries in advance! O_O

When people talk about good local makeup on GT, I often end up buying some of it for myself. It makes me happy when Philippine products perform well. (Also, I like to believe it's my way of supporting the local makeup industry heehee!)

Careline's stick eyeshadows - super steals at just P70 - were mentioned on the local makeup thread not too long ago, hence this review.

Platinum was the most recommended color, but I got Forest Green and Cotton Candy instead because they seemed more fun to play with.

Two other blogs have reviewed this product previously, and both agree that they make excellent eyeshadow bases.

I have yet to try them as bases, but I do like how iridescent they look when swatched. Speaking of which, what else is iridescent? Fairy wings!
I don't know why, but I've been thinking about fairies and fairy-themed makeup lately. :P

Forest Green is a nice Tinkerbell green (See! What did I tell you? FAIRIES!) which has just the right amount of shimmer in it.

Cotton Candy is a barely-there pale pink which brightens up the eyes effectively.

I wore Cotton Candy over a thin layer of BB cream at school today, and it lasted until I got home at 5PM earlier! This review has more evidence to back up Glamour Eyes' lasting power - the poster even ran the product under water!

The product doesn't last as long to some GTalkers, so I really think priming before application makes all the difference.

I agree with this review that the product strongly smells like scented Panda ballpens. People sensitive to scented products should probably stay away from these, I suppose.

Also, both reviews mentioned the VERY LOOSE caps on these things. I join their ranks as the third person to say that they are indeed easily removable, and I strongly suggest securing them with elastic bands (or something similar) before taking them along somewhere.

Packaging issue aside, I'm quite pleased with Glamour Eyes and will most probably buy more colors.

4u2 Styx eyeliner no. 6 (green)

True or false: 6 > 5? TRUE!

It might just be my soft spot for green eye makeup,

but I seriously love this eyeliner. I think it's a very magical looking color, as strange (and slightly drug-induced :P) as that sounds.

The color strongly reminds me of pixies and elves and all sorts of other mystical faerie things. I love it!

6 > 5. Seriously.

4u2 Styx eyeliner no. 5 (blue)

Why does the lighting at my nearby Watson's always end up fooling me? This looked like a much brighter blue at the store. :|

I decided to pick up a few funky-colored eyeliners for nights out (and days when I feel eccentric haha), which is how I came across 4u2's unique eyeliner color selection. This is the first out of the two I bought.

Styx liners are retractable - an advantage for me because I don't like sharpening very much.

The liner goes on creamily, although I feel I did a pretty messy job below:

Not bad for P250.00. Coincidentally, The Face Shop's retractable eyeliners sell for around the same price too.

Coming up on Wednesday, my thoughts on liner no. 6! Can you guess what color that is? :D

e.l.f. Brightening Eye Color in Luxe

I think this is a very Fall quad. (Aww, I wish the Philippines had four seasons!)

It also seems to be the most pigmented ELF quad so far:

I'm pretty iffy about the look I did with it, though.

I just copied it off of a tutorial by DulceCandy87 on youtube. I thought it would look okay in the end, but it turns out that it's not very "me".

Time for more experimenting!

e.l.f. Brightening Eye Color in Pretty n Pink

Not really a pink fan, but I do respect the color when used on nail polish, cell phones and makeup brushes.

I picked up this quad of pinks to add to my selection of daytime colors.
The skin swatch makes it seem kind of chalky, doesn't it?

Fortunately it looks alright when applied.

I like how it brightens my eyes, but I find it too girly for everyday wear. I'll probably wear this on days when I feel blatantly kikay. :P

e.l.f. Brightening Eye Color in Ivy

I find myself inexplicably drawn to green eyeshadow.

ELF Ivy is a quad consisting of a mint green, a moss green, a brownish olive green, and a chocolate brown. It's not very pigmented, even with primer:

I do think it's good for the daytime, though.
It was early morning (like 7AM) when I played with this quad, hence my puffy eyelids.

I just used ELF's tone correcting concealer on mine, so I think more color might be achieved from Ivy if you prime it with something in a similar color.
